activity girls day camp

this week we are doing a day camp for the girls (age 8-12) at our church. we are having a great time! we've made cards for someone who has been a good friend to us.

look what ryan's been doing

this poor boy has been working on fixing our hallway floor. we ripped up the carpet and found there was more work to be done than we had originally thought. ryan said, "it's never as simple as we think it will be." so true. so true. actually, he probably said something more like, "it's never as simple as you think it will be."

i always love the demolition, but tend to get a little bored with the rest of the process.

we're trying to get this hallway finished and then we'll begin our entryway and dining room. they get to have bamboo for their flooring!

then we'll have carpet installed in the family room and aftie's room.

this was our christmas gift from my parents. we're just getting around to it now.

can't wait til it's all done!

what the girls have been doing

we did a little "hiking" at glen park the other day.

we were walking on a little dirt trail and ella said, " afton, this is just like camping, huh?"

that's right.they're kinda cute, don't you think?
we had some friends over one day to play and the kids did sand art.
what's sand art?
i don't know if we dreamt this up...
but we just draw a picture with elmer's glue and then pour sand over it and shake off the excess. the girls love doing sand art!

afton has been sewing. she's working on some bedroom decor.
