feeling sad

this beautiful lady was diagnosed with cancer right about the time i was.  i did my cancer thing and moved on with life.  christine has been struggling for the past 3 years and finally passed away this last week. 
my heart is so sad.  not only was she beautiful to look at, but she was beautiful on the inside.   
one day after receiving a chemo treatment at roswell, i knew she was there as well, so i stopped by her room.  i remember that she was just beginning to lose her hair.  it was awful that we were both receiving treatment for cancer, but kind of fun to just stop by and chat for a few minutes.  she probably didn't think it was very fun, but was kind enough to indulge me!
i have obviously followed her progress through the past couple of years and have prayed for her so much.  i loved it when she was feeling well enough to attend church so i could visit with her for a minute.  one time, i told her how much i loved her fake hair.  luckily she had a good sense of humor and we laughed. 
tonite i went to set up all of her pictures  for the viewing tomorrow.  this seems to be my new thing...the official picture arranger for viewings.  my second experience with this.  they said i did such a good job with my friend susan's photos, i should do it again.  i wasn't very happy about it, but once i was there and could pull myself together i realized how lucky i was to have some quiet time to peek into her life through her photos.  such a beautiful, loving woman and i'm so grateful to have known her.

folders with horizontal folders, no prongs: 11

items to be labeled: too many to count!

 there's nothing better than buying new school supplies.

we get this excitement from gg, who loves the scent of a good office supply store!

and while ella was busy labeling her supplies,

the older, wiser sister had some unsolicited but sound advice to share with the almost 3rd grader of the household...

"it's important to keep your desk organized, or it's almost impossible to have a good 3rd grade year".

hill cumorah pageant

 i believe this is our 9th year to attend the hill cumorah pageant.

we go every year since it's so close to drive.

this year was super fun because we met up with our friends and spent the evening together.

our long lost friends, the plumbs, were in town for a visit. 

so we were able to meet up with them and the sweet christensens.

we are so lucky to have such fun friends.
