we celebrated ella's 4th birthday and ate turkey on the same day this year! we started the day with a pool party & muffins & smoothies. ella opened her presents. we sang happy birthday and then got ready to start the thanksgiving festivities. it actually worked pretty well. i think ella was happy and we kept saying happy birthday to her throughout the day.

this is one amazing cake, wouldn't you agree? okay, if you can't tell what it is, i'll tell you. it's a swimming pool cake. see the little bears floating in their tubes? and those aren't real rocks on the side, those are chocolate rocks. i didn't even know they made chocolate rocks!

p.s. where did you do your swimming party? that is chase's FAVORITE activity ever but I can never find a place that will let you have a party. do tell!

You know with my vast hotel knowledge, you should tell kristenita to check at the local smaller hotels- they will usually do pool parties and a conference room, etc... fun fun!

hey, "the west's" thanks for the tip! I called a few hotels last year & they were all pretty poopypants on the idea of having a party... but I will keep asking around & try smaller hotels!
